Come and learn how to make a classic round loaf of sourdough from start to finish and enjoy some coffee from Heritage while you're at it! This will be a hands on class. You will receive a healthy, organic established starter to take home with you, as well as a loaf of dough to bake at home. A coffee or drink of your choice from Heritage will also be included in this class!
Date: Sunday, September 27th, 1:00-3:00 PM
Event Address:
HERITAGE Coffeehouse + Venue
402 Anthem Drive
Huxley, IA 50124
Contact: Jen Morecraft via Facebook or CounterCultureSC@gmail.com
Cost: $45/person.
Equipment: You will only need to bring a large mixing bowl and a clean kitchen towel with you. I do highly encourage that you have a Dutch oven to bake your loaf of dough in after class and for future baking, but you do not need to bring the DO to class. I also highly recommend you have a digital scale at home for future baking for best success. We will discuss some other tools that can be nice to have, but are optional. Additionally, proofing baskets, bread lames, bread bags and bowl covers will be available to purchase from a couple of my favorite Iowa small businesses.
This will be a very fun, educational class!
